The cold snowy facts

After all your wonderful comments, I am now optimistic that spring has to come soon. After all, it is the first day of spring today.

But, here are the cold, snowy facts:

  1. Environment Canada indicated that we will have another 6 weeks of winter.

  2. Here in Ottawa, Ontario we have had 419 centimetres - the second snowiest winter on the books - and will have bragging rights if we hit 444.6 centimetres by July - yep, the official weather rules state the month July...if I see snow in July, I will scream!

  3. 419 cm equals 13.745 feet which equals a heck of a lot of shovelling

  4. According to a senior climatologist from Environment Canada, it is "normal" for this area to get 10 to 15 per cent of our annual snowfall after the first day of spring. Yep, I said AFTER...

  5. The city of Ottawa is $23 million over budget for snow removal...yep, I said $23 million...

I am so sick of winter!

So, I decided to take a sunny disposition on situation. Think warm, sunny weather! Think warm, sunny weather! Think warm, sunny weather!

That got me thinking...warm, sunny weather will melt the snow...leaving puddles and puddles and puddles and a few more puddles --- so, to demonstrate my new optimistic thinking, I bought these:

COME ON SPRING...I really am optimistic!

(Aren't they cute? Now I want a red 'brella!)

Oh... I'm digging the cool galoshes. I would hate to get those muddy. 14 feet of snow... that is so wrong.

well, after my gloating yesterday that our snow is gone, I see that we are getting 5 -7 new inches tomorrow. Lovely.

There are days when I actually miss snow. But not this much snow!

May spring come SOON so you can enjoy your new kicking boots. :)

While I am done with winter, I don't like mud season either, which is usually most of our "spring".
I'm a summer and fall kind of girl ;)

Those are THE cutest boots! Love.
I don't blame you for being sick of snow, I am going to stop complaining about our repeatedly teasing spring now. I can see as much grass in my yard as snow now. Yay!! I hope you get to see some grass soon too.

Those are soo cute! I am so with you on the snow and being SICK of winter thing. That's pretty depressing that you get 10-15 percent of your snowfall after Spring. I hope that isn't true this year!

I LOVE the boots. Living in the west I should have a great pair of rain boots, but I don't. I see a shopping trip in my future. You should move the kids west. Or south. Anywhere but Ottawa.

Thanks for visiting my blog. I see where you're a regular reader of Miss Sniz, my wife.

Nice boots. I have one pair of boots and I've had then since I was in Jr. High School. That makes them about 30 years old. I think they were my dads and then I started wearing them. Now my son is wearing them, too. I know it's not a very exciting story, but I just felt the need to ramble on about something.
