Janet Jackson in the Role of Tired Wife

The following conversation occurred on Thursday morning at 8:20. The names of the innocent, dry-humoured/smug and sleepy have been changed to protect their identities.

Well-meaning Husband: Hey Hon, how was your morning?

Tired Wife: Pretty good. There was lots of news to cover this morning. It was pretty busy.

(Loving hug and kiss exchanged)

Well-meaning Husband: Oh, there was Canadian news? I turned on CBC this morning and all they were covering was that New York guy and the prostitute ring.

Tired Wife: Oh there was lots of coverage on that, but there were also clips on all the confidence votes coming up.

Well-meaning/smug Husband: Did they report on the new fashion trends in Ottawa?

Tired Wife: Ummm...no.... (raise eyebrow here to signal confusion over why hubby would be interested in fashion clips from the news)

Well-meaning/smug Husband: I figured that is where you heard that inside out sweaters are all the rage in Ottawa this season.

Tired Wife: (looking down at her sweater) Ah SHIT...

I guess that happens when you get up at 3AM and dress half in the dark and half asleep.

1) Note to self: Double check clothes before leaving each morning.

2) Note to self: Find out if Janet Jackson is available to play me in my life movie...since she has experience in wardrobe malfunctions and all.

So clever! I've done this before with mis-matched shoes.

oh my! been there, done that, you are seriously NOT alone! could be WAY worse. i walked around with a velcro roller atop my head once for about 4 hours before a MAN in the market pointed it out to me. i had already been to have my oil changed, the bank, starbucks, the dry cleaners and the drug store where i had run into people i KNEW and no one said a word!

sad, pathetic, roller wearing crazy lady...i am sure they all just thought i had lost it and were afraid to say anything. LAME!

You poor thing! I am dreading all the possible wardrobe malfunctions when I go back to work. Man.... In my eyes you are a star and always will be an inspiration. Hope you're feeling better soon. You have me worried. Take care.

My mum always says that when you wear your sweater inside out, it means someone is/was thinking about you. I don't know where she got that idea (old European tradition maybe?).

If that's true though, I wonder who was having heavy thoughts about you.... hmmm...

And I love your husband's wit. :)

Very funny way to let you know! My husband never notices when I do stuff like that. We used to work at the same place, and one of my co-workers came up to me after I'd been there for an hour to finish zipping me up in the back. I had meant for Bob to do it, but I guess both of us forgot.

I went to work once with one brown and one blue shoe. Didn't notice until I was in the middle of a training session I was giving, and I was too far from home to change them when the session was over. Had to go back into the office with the mismatched pair. You are truly NOT ALONE.

lol- you totally should have played it off. "Why yes, hon, I'm always the fashionista, afterall. Aren't you glad I keep myself looking like the trophy wife you married?!"

:) I've put on everything backwards or inside out at one point or another. Can't tell ya how many times I've sat down to go pee, only to realize my panties were inside out. :)

Well-meaning husband sure knows how to make a point! Too bad you didn't just tell him, yes, they were all the rage!

An Irish superstition says wearing your clothes inside out (inadvertently) will bring you luck.

Happy St Pat's Day!
